A: It is not simple EMV card, chip is replaced. Manufacturer from china made those cards for us. On EMV card inside is built 16 gb memory chip
Q: How much take memory one credit card tracks + PIN?
A: Tracks are taking kilobytes. Here we do not talking about how much tada weight but about amount of them.
Q: POS EMV Shimmer is so small, how much tracks it can collect inside? How to download tracks? How it works?
A: In the Shimmer is also chip from micro sd card – 16 gb. But one track take couple kilobytes, technically memory is not problem and it allows store hundreds of thousands data. Main problem in this is that skimmer can properly operates only if there is not more than 2500 card tracks. Because of that we guarantee 1700 records in one session without issues.
When we tested it, it also can store 4000 tracks without issues, but it is not safe, it can just stop and loose data, if it crashes you must reboot skimmer using software. This is because it have ultra small chip that operates all system. It manages data storing, data transferring to smart card, shimmer communication with software and everything.
Q: How long I can leave POS EMV Shimmer in ATM or POS?
A: You can leave it for day or month, depends of how busy is area. But up to 2000 data is recommended amount.
